Preventative MaintenancePreventive Maintenance (PM) Plans/Benchmarking Key Performance Indicators

Improper maintenance increases the risk that an equipment malfunction will disrupt operations and interfere with production. In many corporate environments, one hour of downtime may cost thousands (even millions) of dollars in terms of lost productivity and business. For many businesses, downtime is no longer acceptable. Instead of responding in a reactive state, with maintenance workers constantly having to troubleshoot and fix problems, we promote a proactive approach to maintenance that maximizes productivity.

Gannett Fleming can help establish an accurate reporting system and improve the accuracy of an existing system to provide for better accountability of maintenance workers. Insufficient training, inadequate supervision, and constant equipment problems keep workers from maintaining complete and accurate PM records.

By establishing a rigorous PM schedule that workers follow in inspecting and maintaining every piece of equipment at every location according to a specified timetable, multiple issues related to Facilities Management such as life cycle costs, uptime, reliability, and manpower utilization are addressed. In addition, data is generated and used to provide maintenance supervisors with an accurate history of maintenance and repairs for every piece of equipment.
