Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling
 Our firm has completed numerous Hydrologic and Hydraulic analyses for dams, flood insurance studies, flood control and river channels, water control structures, navigation structures, bridges and culverts. Our water resources engineers use state-of-the-art software and develop custom programs for unique problems. Gannett Fleming has expertise in developing SITES computer models to perform hydrologic analyses, proportion hydraulic structure and assess the erodibility of grass-lined or earth-cut emergency spillways.
Gannett Fleming routinely uses computer programs such as HEC-1 and HEC-2 and SCS TR-20 for hydrologic, reservoir routing, and open channel evaluations; HEC-RAS, GEO-RAS and NWS DAMBRK for dam break simulations, FHWA HY8 for culvert calculations, SEEPW for flow net generation, and NOAA HMR 51/52 for probable maximum storm generation.
Gannett Fleming has served as technical consultant for 15 years under the Federal Flood Insurance Study Program. Assignments included numerous detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies, and delineation of flood prone areas for communities in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Indiana, Michigan, and New York, as well as flood hazard boundary mapping for 21 states in the Eastern United States. We are currently under contract by FEMA to perform flood-related studies and flood mapping within the five-state FEMA Region III area, and by the State of Wisconsin.
