Surplus Computer Donation Benefits Peru
The Phoenix, Ariz., office, with GANCOM’s permission, is donating surplus computer equipment to a non-profit organization doing development and relief work in Peru. QuipuNet is made up of Peruvians and friends of Peru residing all over the world whose primary mission is to provide rural inhabitants with access to education.
Distance learning, virtual libraries, and access to outside resources are very important in the development of the remote regions of the world. These computers will connect not only students and teachers, but also facilitate communication at government levels during emergencies in an area prone to flood and earthquake.
The Phoenix office computers will be delivered to the village of Huashao in the Callejon de Huaylas region of Peru.
