Punxsutawney Relay for Life
The 2nd Annual Punxsutawney Relay For Life, Race for the Cure, was held on July 15 in Barclay Square in Punxsutawney, Pa. All of the money raised at the event benefited the American Cancer Society.
L.G. Hetager Drilling sponsored one of the teams -- “Shaffer’s Shufflers” -- again this year. The team, which consisted of L.G. Hetager employee (Diana) Jean Reed and 15 members from the Grange Church of God took the name “Shaffer’s Shufflers” in memory of Elaine Shaffer, who lost her battle to cancer on March 21, 2005. “Shaffer’s Shufflers” raised approximately $1,000, adding to the Punxsutawney grand total of more than $59,956.
