IT Services’ Participates in Shadowing Program
As a component of the East Pennsboro High School’s Project Independence initiative, all students must complete a career shadow experience as a requirement of graduation. Each student is required to spend one day with a mentor who is employed in his/her field of interest. By matching students with mentors, the students gain first-hand knowledge about the careers they are considering.
Last November, Jason Shutt spent the day “shadowing” several developers in our IT Services’ Application Development Group in Camp Hill. Jason, who is the son of Susan Shutt in our Accounting Department, wants to become a game developer. He spent time throughout the day with four developers in this Group – Gary Rynearson, Tim Swisher, Gil Shaffner, and Suzanne Merkel – learning various aspects of application development.
