Gannett Fleming Awards Annual Scholarships

Daniel Lapikas (Harrisburg, Pa.) Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, technology, and construction management firm, recently awarded scholarships to family members of two employees.
Pooja Salhotra, daughter of Atul Salhotra from the RAM Group of Gannett Fleming based in Houston, Texas, and Daniel Lapikas, son of Maureen Goncz and stepson of Daniel Goncz, both based in Mercer, Pa., were selected as winners of the 2012 Gannett Fleming Scholarship Program. Each student will receive $1,000 toward his/her education.
Pooja graduated from St. John’s High School in Houston, Texas, in June 2012 and plans to attend Yale University in New Haven, Conn., to pursue a degree in psychology or cognitive science. Daniel, a 2012 graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage, Pa., will attend The Pennsylvania State University, The Behrend College, in Erie, Pa., where he plans to study environmental engineering. Congratulations to Pooja and Daniel for this outstanding accomplishment!
The Gannett Fleming Scholarship was created to recognize the children and grandchildren of the firm’s employees who show exceptional leadership and character. The winners were chosen by a panel of non-partisan judges based on their answers to two essay questions, their most recent school transcripts, community involvement, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation.
