
Mulqueen Named Transit & Rail Practice Manager

(Raleigh, N.C.) Bryan P. Mulqueen, P.E., was named the national manager of Gannett Fleming’s Transit & Rail Practice. The practice operates companywide to bring the firm’s extensive resources to clients and projects across the country. In addition, it provides a structured forum for transit and rail personnel to develop common design strategies and standards for project implementation. In this role, Mulqueen is responsible for maintaining the quality and consistency of the practice’s work products, leading the growth of the practice, and facilitating work sharing and staffing of projects. Based in the Raleigh, N.C., office, Mulqueen also serves as a vice president and project principal for a number of the firm’s most important transit projects.
With more than 25 years of experience managing major transportation infrastructure programs and large multidisciplinary regional teams, Mulqueen’s rail transportation experience includes work in all project phases, including planning, design, construction, and operations. As practice manager, his responsibilities include the daily operational management, business development, strategic growth, and profitability of the firm for all transit and rail products. Most recently, Mulqueen served as transit and rail manager for the firm’s Southeast and Delmarva Regions, as well as program manager for the firm’s engineering and architecture contract supporting the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s six-year capital improvement program.
A registered professional engineer in North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia, Mulqueen holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Active in professional associations, he is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
