This awards program recognizes the best in bridge construction for 2011. Gannett Fleming, served as the lead designer and engineer-of-record on this project.   • Roads & Bridges magazine ranked the U.S. Route 15, Section C41 as #1 and the I-78 & Garden State Parkway Interchange 142 Improvement Project as #8 in its “Top 10 Roads 2011” awards program.   • Gannett Fleming was recognized in the American Council of Engineering Companies of Virginia (ACEC/VA) 2012 Engineering Excellence Awards for its lead role in the Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) bus operations and maintenance facility on Belt Boulevard in Richmond, Va. The project, which turned a contaminated 12-acre site into a modern, green, state-of-the-art bus operation and maintenance campus, received a Grand Award. More...

  • The Reconstruction of New Jersey Route 18 project in New Brunswick, N.J., has been chosen as one of the recipients of America’s Transportation Awards, which took place at the annual meeting of the Northeast Association of State Transportation Officials. Eight transportation projects from seven northeastern states were recognized for reducing congestion, stimulating economic development, improving multimodal connections, reconnecting communities, and making commuting safer.   • The Interstate 80 (I-80) Widening and Bridge Replacement project at Meander Reservoir in Mahoning County, Ohio, has been recognized for its contributions to environmental protection and mitigation with the Transportation Development Foundation’s 2011 Globe Award. The foundation is part of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).

    The Meander Reservoir project received first place in the Highways category for projects costing less than $100 million. The awards were presented on May 24, 2011, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the 2011 ARTBA Federal Issues Conference. More...

  • The Reconstruction of New Jersey Route 18 project in New Brunswick, N.J., has been chosen as a winner in two prestigious awards programs of the Transportation Development Foundation: The 2011 Globe Awards and the 2011 PRIDE Awards. The foundation is part of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).

    The Route 18 project received a first place Globe award in the Highway category for projects worth in excess of $100 million. It also was honored with a third place PRIDE award in the category of Community Relations: Public Sector. The awards were presented on May 24, 2011, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with the 2011 ARTBA Federal Issues Conference.

  • Gannett Fleming West, Inc., a New Mexico-based engineering corporation, was recognized in the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Mexico (ACEC/NM) 2011 Engineering Excellence Awards program for its leading role in the I-40 West Central Interchange project. The entry received the prestigious Best of Transportation award in the transportation category. The National Recognition Award is a prestigious distinction honoring projects that demonstrate exceptional achievement in engineering. Ahmed El-Aassar, Ph.D., INCA, ASA, a project manager and designer of Sounds of Transit based in Harrisburg, Pa., attended the EEA Gala awards program and dinner on April 1, 2011, at The Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, D.C.   • The Redbank Valley Municipal Authority’s (RVMA’s) Rehabilitation of Intake and Appurtenances project in New Bethlehem, Pa., has earned the Eagle Award in the Other Construction - Less than $2 Million category of the Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC’s) Excellence in Construction Awards. Gannett Fleming performed field surveys, geotechnical analysis, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and prepared final construction documents, to rehabilitate the more than 100-year-old Redbank Valley Intake Dam and construct a new river intake and fish passage facility. The rehabilitation project addressed several deficiencies at the existing 8-foot-high, run-of-river dam, including the continuation of a raw water supply. More...

  • Gannett Fleming Engineers & Architects, P.C., was recognized in the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of New York 2011 Engineering Excellence Awards program for its role in The New York State Department of Transportation Nassau Expressway Pavement Rehabilitation and Resurfacing Project.   • The Reconstruction of New Jersey Route 18 in New Brunswick, N.J., has been decorated with three prestigious awards. Most notably, the project received an Honor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) as part of their national Engineering Excellence Awards Competition. The national ACEC Honor Award was presented to the project team at a black-tie gala in Washington, D.C., on Friday, April 1, 2011.
