
Scrafford Named Rising Star

(Baltimore, Md.) Robert W. Scrafford, P.E., has been named a Rising Star by Living Classrooms Foundation for his outstanding professional and personal achievements, highlighted by his leadership in the Support Our Troops program. This program involves collecting and shipping useful items to soldiers overseas on behalf of the Society of American Military Engineers. As a Rising Star, Scrafford will participate in various networking opportunities throughout the year and become an ambassador and supporter of the foundation's education and job-training programs.
Scrafford is an environmental scientist and engineer with Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. Based in the firm's Baltimore, Md., office, Scrafford manages projects and assists with environmental assessments and hazardous-waste site investigations. He is responsible for delineating and monitoring wetlands, designing and monitoring stream restorations, providing Natural Environmental Policy Act documentation for transportation projects, and performing stream and water-quality assessments.
With more than 13 years of experience, Scrafford holds a bachelor of science in environmental studies from Bucknell University and a master of science in environmental sciences and policy from Johns Hopkins University. He is a registered professional engineer in Maryland and Virginia and is an active member of the American Water Resources Association and the Society of American Military Engineers.
Living Classrooms Foundation is a Baltimore, Md.-Washington, D.C.-based non-profit educational organization. Its mission is to strengthen communities and inspire young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as “living classrooms.”
