Rhine Obtains Designated Design-Build Professional™ Certification

Scott N. Rhine, P.E., DBIA(Clearfield, Pa.) Scott N. Rhine, P.E., DBIA, recently obtained his Designated Design-Build Professional (DBIA) certification. Rhine works for Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm, where he serves as transportation and project manager at the Clearfield, Pa., office. He is also the design-build leader for design-build projects in Pennsylvania.

To obtain this designation, Rhine was required to successfully complete an exam and have three years substantial design-build work experience. In addition, he had to meet DBIA’s educational requirements; complete DBIA’s three core courses along with 18 elective credits related directly to project delivery, and submit three letters of reference. To maintain this certification, Rhine must earn a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education credit every two years. He is one of two employees at Gannett Fleming with this designation.

A registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania and Maryland, Rhine holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers, Clearfield Chapter, the Engineers Society of Pennsylvania, and the American Institute of Steel Construction.
