
PA-AWRA Conference to Address
Water Resources in a Changing Climate

(Harrisburg, Pa.) The Pennsylvania Section of the American Water Resources Association (PA-AWRA) will hold its annual conference on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at the Best Western Eden Resort Inn and Conference Center in Lancaster, Pa.
The focus of the 2008 PA-AWRA conference is “Pennsylvania Water Resources in a Changing Climate.” The keynote address will be presented by Christopher D. Milly, a research hydrologist for the U.S. Geological Survey. Other speakers from The Pennsylvania State University, the National Weather Service, the Environment and Natural Resource Institute, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the Philadelphia Water Department, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will discuss the potential aspects and impacts of climate change as it relates to water resources.
The PA-AWRA conference is open to engineers, consultants, basin and watershed planners, regulators, water supply and wastewater system managers, faculty, researchers, aquatic biologists, stakeholders, water resource professionals, and students.

The registration fee for the conference is $55 until Sept. 30, which includes a continental breakfast, refreshments, lunch, and membership in PA-AWRA for 2009. Student registration will be offered at a discounted rate of $25. Walk-in registration will be $60 on the day of the conference.
