
Mayman Joins Gannett Fleming

(Los Angeles, Calif.) Sam Mayman, P.E., has joined Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm. Based in the firm’s Los Angeles, Calif., office, Mayman serves as a vice president and regional transit manager.
Mayman brings more than 34 years of experience to his new role with Gannett Fleming.
He is responsible for the oversight of diverse transit projects, as well as the day-to-day operations and business development efforts of the firm’s Transit and Rail Practice in the western United States.
Relying on his extensive background in overseeing large-scale transit projects from conceptual planning to project closeout, Sam Mayman has managed the engineering and design of light rail, underground subway, and Automated People Mover (APM) projects in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Mayman’s areas of expertise include the design of major line sections, light and heavy rail, commuter rail, and APM systems, including the management of the design of the Eastside Light Rail Line in Los Angeles and the design and construction of the APM at Chicago O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Ill.
A registered professional engineer in California, Mayman holds a master of science in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble.
