 (Harrisburg, Pa.) Joseph R. Bower was recently named manager of the Information and Control Systems Group within the Facilities Division of Gannett Fleming, an international planning, design, and construction management firm.
Based in the firm’s corporate headquarters in Harrisburg, Pa., Bower works closely with Gannett Fleming’s government, commercial, and industrial clients to meet their technology system needs. Bower and his team design, construct, and maintain systems that monitor and control infrastructure, plants, and various processes.
In this role, Bower directs the work of several engineering teams that provide instrumentation and control system design services, programming, and communications system design. They prepare plans and specifications for transportation, environmental, security, and other facilities, in addition to integrating automated process control systems.
Bower also manages the design of wired, wireless, and fiber-optic communications systems. He oversees a team of professionals who provide high-level technical field services to construct, implement, and maintain electronic systems.
With more than 17 years of experience, Bower holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Lehigh University. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; the American Water Works Association; and the Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society.
