Gannett Fleming, Dering Consulting Group Announce Avant IMC Joint Venture

Avant IMC, LLC(Harrisburg, Pa.) Gannett Fleming, Inc., an international planning, design, and construction management firm, and Dering Consulting Group, Inc., a strategy, management consulting, and training development firm, are pleased to announce the creation of Avant IMC, LLC.

A joint venture between these two firms, Avant IMC offers combined management consulting, planning, and engineering services for organizations that own and maintain large infrastructure systems, such as highways, water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems, and railroads. Its client base includes public authorities, counties and municipalities, environmental organizations, utilities, and commercial enterprises.

Avant IMC’s experienced staff helps clients become more successful by combining strategic decision making with engineering know-how to solve real-world problems and achieve tangible results.

Jim Brock, principal of Dering Consulting Group, serves as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Avant IMC. A certified project management professional (PMP) with more than 25 years of experience, Brock translates strategy into action through organizational planning and decision making to improve performance and effectiveness.

Avant IMC is led by a four-member Board of Directors, including Brock; Paul Caulfield, principal of Dering Consulting Group; and two Gannett Fleming executives – Gene Koontz, P.E., senior vice president and director of the firm’s Environmental Resources Division, and Chester Allen, P.E., senior vice president and director of transportation. Koontz is chairman of Avant IMC, and, respectively, Caulfield and Allen serve as senior vice president and secretary of the joint venture. This Board brings extensive experience with members of the public and private sectors, having served as both practitioners and consultants in their areas of expertise.
